Jefferson County is asking for input on health issues

There have already been meetings in Edgewater and Littleton. There next meeting is starting right now in Conifer. Two additional meetings are planned for Arvada and Lakewood. A light dinner is provided at all meetings. I am hoping that people bring up substantial issues, like transit and housing at these meetings. I am also hoping that we can discuss how our tax dollars subsidize unhealthy living.

Transportation Legislation Review Committee (The links from this page have some fancy coding that may prevent them from opening on some machines.)

Southern Colorado and Western Slope Tours are scheduled for August and September, respectively.

On the one hand, I actually heard about the committee meetings this year. On the other, I heard about it from organizations that very much defend corporate interests above those of small businesses and ordinary citizens. One in particular is very white. I may go to the meeting in Greeley to see if everyone is white.

A new station along the East Line has been proposed for the corner of 61st and Peña Boulevard. The City and County of Denver, DIA, and the developer Fulenwider Inc. have requested this new station. I am wondering who is going to pay for it.

Travel Poem

I love to travel anywhere
Feel the breezes through my hair
Destinations many such
Memories in mind so much.

Railway children travel far
Before we ever owned a car
On buses trains and boats were we
Intrepid little family.

Put our bikes on boats and planes
And of course our lovely trains
Met a lot of life out there
Because we could and did and dare
