RTD wants to raise fares while ridership declines

RTD is hosting public meetings to tell people what they want to do.

The first meeting is telephone town hall so they don't have to actually talk to people.

Look for them to overemphasize the effort that they put into the study while not mentioning that lack of bus riders or lack of people qualified to do this study. Or even the fact that there were only five or six people at most sessions.

I am also concerned that people who asked the legislature not to fund transit may have been part of the group.

Also, I don't expect them to mention that the nonprofit program will not get anymore money, but will be more expensive to administer which means less bus and trains rides for the low income people.

A few days later, open houses start.
