You can go to Lyons for free on the weekends this Summer

At least if you are live in downtown Boulder, you can. Otherwise, it costs whatever it takes to get the downtown Boulder bus station.

Via Colorado is operating the buses which follow the route of the Y. which is being funded by grants from the Colorado Department of Health and Govenment and Denver Regional Council of Governments. The bus runs hourly Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays from May 25 through August 31. And all the buses are free, free, free.

People are going to be sad on Saturday, September 1. I hope nobody gets stuck.

(You can also ride free on the Y bus during the work week if you are resident of Lyons. All residents of that town get a free EcoPass. Call 303-823-6622 for more information.)

Why is RTD not publicizing this at all? You would think that they could add it into the 'Y' schedule, but I only see the normal schedule.

They are not publicizing it because they are not involved. This is a service of Boulder County and the City of Lyons.

That's a terrible excuse, though all too common with transit agencies.

It is just like the HOP not having schedules on RTD's website, even though the other bus routes in Boulder do. Your average Joe doesn't care one bit who funds the buses, just as long as they show up.

The transit people in CDOT are working on a website that might fix this issue.\

Although the HOP has the additional issue that it doesn't always run on a schedule. There is a similar issue with the Call-n-Rides. They are apparently on the RTD website, but not in the schedules section.

The Call-n-Rides are not on Google Transit either.
