NARP is Looking for New Council Members

The National Association of Railroad Passengers is partly run by its Council of Representatives, and NARP is currently looking for people to fill both state and at-large positions. These people are elected by NARP members although in many years, there is only one candidate for each position. It seems that NARP is looking to change that as they are advertising for more candidates. I personally would like to see the council become more diverse and for council members to be more respectful of women and people of color.

If you are interested, and have been a NARP member for at least a year, please fill out the online form before December 1, 2013. The election will be held in January 2014.

The council meets twice a year, once in Washington, DC in late April and once in another Amtrak accessible location. The council will be going to Salt Lake City, UT in October 2014.

(Please note the dates on the NARP website are different from those here based on updated information from Malcolm Kenton.)
