W Line Connectivity Public Event

Saturday, October 19 at 1 pm - ?
Wadsworth Light Rail Station, Plaza Area
Light Rail: W
Bus: 926, 28, 76
[Please note that the 9 may have its own bus stop(s).]

There is going to be a giant map of the area around the W line in the middle of the Plaza which is on the east side of Lakewood-Wadsworth Light Rail Station. The map will include the area around the Sheridan, Lamar, Lakewood-Wadsworth, Garrison, and Oak Stations. This is the kickoff event for the West Rail Access Study.

If you would like more information about this event or about the West Rail Access Study, you can call Ben Waldman at 303-987-7984.

Hopefully, the study will focus on current transit users rather than people who are married to their SUV's. Personally, I would like to learn more about people who take the bus or train once a week to once a month. I don't think that there is a lot of benefit to marketing transit to people who never use it, but we could get a lot of increased ridership by increasing the places that people feel comfortable taking a bus or a train. We could also get more ridership by reducing the time constraints that come with transit use in Denver.

It used to be that it was faster to take the bus in Boulder than drive. I have had that same experience in several other countries as well. We could make it the same here.
